It Takes Money, To Make Money

That’s right. Let that statement sink in, and then decide if you’ve got what it takes to make money online. From here, there are two paths…
1. Cop out – Decide that you can’t be bothered with anything that could be called “work.” You wanted to make millions from the comfort of your home. You thought it was as easy as buying a $9.99 domain, coming up with a played out name, theme, and slogan, and writing a few uneducated, ridiculous articles. You were dead wrong. Do not pass go. Proceed to the land of epic fail.
2. Rewire – Change the way you think. It’s not going to be easy, deal with it. Trash your old business plan, and use some sense in the new one.

But I Was Never Told…

It takes money, to make money. This is something you don’t hear a lot of A-lister tell you. Why? I don’t know. Maybe they don’t want you to lose hope. Maybe they’re afraid that if bloggers who have no money to spend (the majority of bloggers), quit blogging, then they might lose a good chunk of the traffic coming to their own site.

If the majority of people coming to your site want to learn about making money online, but have little to no money to spend, would it be in your best interest to tell them it can’t be done? Of course not.

Don’t get me wrong, there are people who have made it big without having any money to spend, but these cases are extremely rare. Not to mention, these people (who sometimes, have been trying for years) typically have unique, fresh, well-thought-out ideas; far from cookie cutter.

Just browsing through the blogosphere, I can tell you, well over 99% of the blogs I come across, are anything but unique. If you’re waiting for your big break to get rich quick, you’re probably wasting your life away.

Give Up?
So, is that it? Time to call it quits? It depends on the path you chose. If you’re ready to rewire, and get rid of the mindset (this is going to be easy) that perhaps some A-listers have endorsed across the net, then you stand a chance.

I believe that making money online is easier than the average person thinks it is. However too many bloggers underestimate the dedication required for providing quality, unique content that is marketed in a strategic manner.

In my opinion, this is a direct result of nonsense marketing that is promoted and overestimated on nearly every “make money online” blog I come across. Spending countless hours on MyBlogLog in an effort to recruit a few readers over the years is not productive. It is not effective. It is not efficient.

Do Not Read Below, If You’re Looking For The Easy Way Out

I’ll tell you what is productive. Getting a job, or a second job, working the night shift, for minimum wage if need be, so that you can save up some extra cash to get your new business plan rolling. I’m not talking about unreachable amounts of money. A few thousand, even a few hundred dollars to spend on your blog or any other online business, is really the key to a good start.
There I said it. It’s not easy. It’s not quick. It takes work. Now tell me, do you have what it takes to become successful?

If you’re still interested in making money online, there will be future articles dedicated to showing you what to spend your money on, improving the quality of your content, and how to find something unique.

For the rest of you, be thankful I was honest enough to save you the time and effort.
